Sharyn Egan: Art Workshop

You are invited to join Nyoongar artist Sharyn Egan in this hands-on art workshop.

Sharyn Egan is a painter, weaver and sculptor. Never afraid of experimentation and exploration, she works in numerous media, including painting, sculpture, woven forms and site- specific installations, often choosing materials, such as ochres, resins and grasses that connect to land, especially her home near the lake system in the southern suburbs of Perth.

Her woven works include traditionally styled contemporary forms and baskets, as well as larger scale sculptural forms. Join Nyoongar artist Sharyn Egan in this hands-on art workshop to explore environmental concerns in one’s own space and to consider the role of totems in an individual’s responsibility to the environment. Learn to make your own totem and reflect on your own role in caring for the environment. Natural plant materials are provided for this workshop.
